The EPA has determined that wood finishes like UV Plus for Pressure Treated Wood can reduce leaching of copper, chromate and arsenic from CCA treated lumber. Residential CCA lumber was phased out of production recently, but there is a great deal of it in place on existing decks.
For new PT lumber including ACQ and copper azole varieties, allow a minimum of several weeks for lumber to dry before applying Messmer's UV Plus for Pressure Treated Wood.
